First time for financial advice?

We’ve all had to do something new now and again. How do you go about getting Independent financial advice for the first time and what are the things to look out for.

Pick wisely. If you manage to get a really good financial advisor you will be working with them for many years to come. Else you could end up changing year after year which will mean that you will have to discuss you situation and your hopes for the future time and time again. So you should look for someone that you can work with and someone who will have your best interest in mind. You need someone who will tell you the bad bits and the good ones too. After all it’s your finances and your future that they are advising on.

How do you pick? Well you should look at using a company that has experience and highly qualified, at least within financial services, individuals. You wouldn’t just ask anyone to change your brakes on your car. You would want it to be their first time of changing them either! So use someone with experience and knowledge of the world of Independent Financial advice.

Be aware. Often the advice will come from the advisor only and not the company. So just because you are sat in front of an advisor who may be from the biggest company in the world, it could come down to the individual advisors knowledge. To ensure the best advice we always use experienced advisors and get your case reviewed by a Chartered Financial Planner. Why, what if there was something that would be slightly better for you? Wouldn’t you want to know?

What should you look out for? Simple good financial advice is not about getting rich quick. It’s about what is best for you, your circumstances and your goals. Use an advisor who understands your goals and works with you in mind.

OK so we do offer all of this but even if you think that we are not right for you just yet at least you will know some of the things to look out for when receiving advice.
